$750 PE Equipment Giveaway!!

We're giving away $750 in PE Equipment for Active Transportation Month!

That's right, October is Active Transportation month and we're handing out prizes to Member schools. All you need to do is get your students moving - if they can walk/ride to or from school, you earn points. If they live too far away but can put the steps in at lunch time, you earn points!

At the end of the month, compile your points and submit your form and we'll announce the winners! $500 will go to 1st place and $250, to 2nd! And don't worry, points will be calculated per capita to even the playing field.


HOW IT WORKS:

Schools will earn:
--> 1 Point per Student, Per Day. For every student that actively transports themselves to school.
--> 1 Point per Student, Per Day. For students who require bussing, but participate in 20 minutes of physical activity at lunchtime.

At the end of each week in October (or at the end of the month!), homeroom teachers or the PE teacher will tally up the total points for the week and submit them through our Google Form. The school with the highest percentage of participation per capita, will win the grand prize.


HOW TO EARN BONUS POINTS:
To earn bonus points, you must share a photo of the specified days below. You can share to X (Twitter) by mentioning @SchoolSportsNL or email Natelle Tulk (ntulk@schoolsportsnl.ca), directly.

Earn 10 extra points per school for each of the following days:
October 9 - International Walk to School Day
October 23 - Take Me Outside Day
October 31 - Halloween (Must be in costume to earn points!)

IMPORTANT: SSNL will add the bonus points for you when we receive your school's photos.

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT POINTS
All points must be tallied and submitted by end of day Tuesday, November 5th.
The grand prize-winning school will be announced Friday, November 8th.
